Mission: Jeff’s desire is to teach the people of Poipet about Jesus and the Bible and to use the church as a place to develop local pastors and Christian leaders within the Cambodian church.
Ministry: Jeff is the pastor of Calvary Chapel of Poipet. Poipet is a border city in Cambodia on a major road from Thailand. A special zone of the city directly along the border is designated for casinos where many Thai and Chinese come to gamble. The casinos have drawn many people from all over Cambodia looking for work. Many are unable to find jobs at the casinos and work in impoverished conditions. Jeff moved to Poipet in 2010 where he began teaching the Bible with a local Christian non-profit organization focused on education and social projects. Then in 2012, the Lord opened the door for Jeff to plant Calvary Chapel of Poipet.
Prayer Requests
- Wisdom and direction in leading the church in Poipet
- That the Lord would continue to bring young men who desire to become pastors
- Spiritual growth of the people coming to Calvary Chapel of Poipet.
- Opportunities to reach the local community with God’s love.
- Jeff is at a conversational level of fluency in the Cambodian language (Khmer), but wants to continue developing his language skills. Khmer is a very difficult language for native English speakers to learn as not only the sounds and sentence structure are very different, but the underlying thoughts and concepts as well.
