All- Church Mexico Orphanage Outreach

FreeJoin us as we travel to Tijuana, Mexico on November 9th to minister to the children at the Casa de Hogar Belen Orphanage! We will be throwing them a party and making a special lunch for them. This event is open to the entire church to go and is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes into missions/outreach work.
Instructions & Information
TRAVEL
We will meet at Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills at 7:00am and will leave shortly thereafter. We will be returning approximately at 8:00pm. We will be carpooling down to the border, parking our vehicles and then walking across the border into Tijuana. We will meet the Otay Mesa McDonald’s (Address below) where you can grab some breakfast and/or go to the restroom before we walk down. We will need some to make their vehicles available for carpool, so please indicate within the sign-up form if you would like to do that.

PARKING
There are a handful of paid parking lots available near the Otay Mesa McDonalds. The rate is approximately $10 or more for the day. If you need any help with parking, reach out to Pastor Nate (nate@ccpacifichills.org). If you are not driving down, you may leave your vehicle parked at Pacific Hills for the day.
TASKS
The goal of these trips is to be with, play with and minister to the children of the orphanage. In the process of doing so, the children usually end up having a greater impact on you than vice versa. Come ready to do whatever is required, whether that be to prepare food or to be a total goof-ball with the kids!
AGE
Children seven years of age or older are welcome to serve alongside their parents at the orphanage. You must know where your children are at all times during our visit. Please keep in mind that we can’t guarantee any level of safety at the border, in Tijuana or at the orphanage.
WHAT TO WEAR
It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods of time and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Breaks are available if needed.
WHAT TO BRING
The most important thing to bring is a valid passport. Feel free to bring your wallet, cell phone (to take pictures with the kids), purse, backpack, etc. There is a room at the orphanage where we will be able to store our things for the day. With that said, it is suggested to travel as lightly as possible across the border so try to bring only what is necessary.
FOOD
All food that we will be preparing and serving will already be at the orphanage. After the food has been prepared and all the children have been served lunch, Pacific Hills volunteers may eat if they would like to.

PASSPORT
It is required that everyone attending the event have a valid passport.
